DescriptionRunk & Pratt Companies is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Technician to join our growing IT team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day technology operations across multiple facilities, including network infrastructure, telephony systems, access control, and end-user support.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working across a wide range of systems—from desktops and mobile devices to VoIP systems, networking equipment, and security platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1–2 technical support for end users (Windows, mobile devices, and applications)
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Support VoIP systems (SIP trunks, PBX systems, and desk phones)
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure (switches, VLANs, firewalls)
- Manage and troubleshoot UniFi systems (networking, cameras, and access control)
- Support and install door access systems, security camera, and network infrastructure
- Assist with Active Directory user and computer management (accounts, permissions, GPOs)
- Perform basic server and storage administration (including NAS systems)
- Document issues, resolutions, and procedures in ticketing systems
- Coordinate with vendors and escalate issues when necessary
- Travel between local facilities as needed
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- 4+ years of IT support or help desk experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across the full stack of IT system
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLANs)
- Experience with VoIP or telephony systems(preferred)
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
- Experience working with firewalls and routing concepts (NAT, port forwarding)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ubiquiti/UniFi (UDM, switches, access control, cameras)
- Familiarity with Asterisk / FreePBX / Unifi Talk / SIP trunking
- Experience with Google Workspace / Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of physical security systems (door controllers, badge readers, sensors)
- Linux server experience preferred
- Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage systems
- Understanding of VPNs and remote access solutions
