Hop Shop, a division of Valor Oil, is looking for a Tier 1 Help Desk Technician. The Tech will assist our IT department in maintaining and supporting our technology systems across all Hop Shops locations. They will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading all back-office equipment, camera systems, registers, credit card terminals, and other supporting systems. Assist cutomers with loyalty as well as interface with Paytronix. Additionally, the Intern Tech will provide technical support to employees and resolve any issues that may arise. 


Responsibilities:

  •  Install, setup, and maintain all back-office equipment including PC, printer, scanner, Handheld price scanners, and Coremark ordering equipment
  •  Installation of NVR POE camera systems
  •  Maintenance the Verifone Commander and Ruby 2 registers and all supporting systems including credit card terminals, Cybera and Mako firewalls
  •  Maintain and repair the PA system so employees can communicate with customers at the pumps
  •  Installation and maintenance of advertising TV’s at Hop Shop’s locations
  •  Physical hardware upgrades and wiring replacements as needed at all locations
  •  Installation and monitoring of Time Clocks at every location and the Kiosk Lock down browser at many locations for the Time Clock tablets
  •  Monitor incoming trouble tickets from company team members and assist as needed
  •  Make sure the Veeder Root is accessible remotely through the Inform PC app
  •  Installation and maintenance of store music systems both inside and outside at the pumps
  •  Ensure the pumps are working as intended and resolve any issues that arise such as prepay not working, DCR failures, media not playing, and “Please pay inside” errors


Requirements
  •  Currently pursuing a degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  •  Basic knowledge of technical systems and equipment
  •  Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
  •  Excellent problem-solving skills
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  •  Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if necessary
  •  Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
