The IT Systems Support position provides essential front-line support to Fisher Dynamics employees by assisting with IT helpdesk requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks. You will work under the guidance of experienced IT staff to develop technical knowledge, build problem-solving skills, and gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing IT environment.

Candidates MUST be local to the Metro Detroit Area. Relocation is not available.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Helpdesk Support
    • Monitor and respond to helpdesk requests using our ticketing software.
    • Provide timely technical assistance to end-users for hardware and software issues.
    • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as appropriate.
  • Desktop and Workstation Support
    • Assist with troubleshooting issues on desktops, laptops, and workstations.
    • Perform basic maintenance tasks including software updates and security patches.
    • Install and configure software and hardware components under supervision.
  • PC Deployment & Setup
    • Assist in building and deploying new PCs using standard tools and procedures.
    • Configure new systems with required software and settings.
    • Test new systems before deployment to end-users.
  • Printer and Peripheral Maintenance
    • Respond to printer-related support requests and troubleshoot common issues.
    • Perform basic printer maintenance and toner/supply replacements.
  • Asset Management
    • Maintain IT Department asset inventory records and apply asset tags.
    • Assist with equipment organization, labeling, and storage.
    • Support equipment recycling and disposal in compliance with company policies.
  • Learning & Development
    • Participate actively in training and mentorship from senior IT staff.
    • Seek to expand technical knowledge and pursue IT certifications.
    • Follow all IT security and data protection policies.

Education

High school diploma or GED required. 

Associate degree or IT certification (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) preferred.


Experience

No prior IT experience required. Recent high school/college graduate or career changer with eagerness to learn IT fundamentals.


Skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.

Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10, 11) or willingness to learn.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar productivity software.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and follow written procedures.

Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of an office setting and manufacturing environment.

Position requires interaction with end-users at all levels.
