Position Overview:  

We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined individual to join our IT support team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of IT systems and a strong desire to learn and grow within the field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to providing excellent technical support. 

Core Responsibilities 

The candidate will be responsible for a variety of support tasks, including but not limited to: 

  • Ticket Response & Resolution
    • Monitor and respond to incoming help desk tickets in a timely manner.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Time Tracking & SLA Compliance
    • Accurately log time spent on each support task or ticket.
    • Ensure all work is completed within the defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards.
  • Equipment Provisioning
    • Prepare and configure new devices for deployment, including operating system installation, user profile setup, and required software installation.
  • Software Installation & Configuration
    • Install and configure standard business applications 
    • Assist users with application setup and basic usage questions
  • Troubleshooting & Investigation
    • Perform initial diagnostics on reported issues to identify root causes.
    • Use available tools and documentation to resolve or document findings before escalating.

Required Technical Aptitude

Candidates should have a foundational understanding of the following technologies and platforms: 

  • Operating Systems
    • Windows 10 and Windows 11: Basic navigation, settings configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Directory Services
    • Microsoft Active Directory: User account lookup, password resets, etc.
  • Networking Fundamentals
    • Basic understanding of IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN concepts.
    • Familiarity with VPN setup and troubleshooting remote connectivity issues.
  • Cloud Services
    • General understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud computing principles.
    • Awareness of cloud-based identity and access management.

 

Preferred Certifications

While not required, the following certifications are preferred and demonstrate a solid foundation in IT support: 

  • CompTIA A+
  • PC PRO or equivalent
  • Network PRO or equivalent

 

Candidate Profile

This role is designed for individuals who show strong potential and enthusiasm for technology. Prior help desk experience is not required. The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be a quick learner with a proactive attitude.
  • Be organized and detail-oriented in tracking tasks and documentation.
  • Show initiative in solving problems and seeking out learning opportunities.
