Position Summary:
The IT Support Technician is tasked with providing advanced technical support, playing a crucial role in the maintenance and enhancement of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves diagnosing and resolving high-level technical issues, contributing to IT projects, and supporting cybersecurity measures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues across hardware, software, and networks.
- Conduct routine system checks and updates to ensure the security and efficiency of IT systems.
- Handle and resolve most Tier 1 / Tier 2 helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for both internal use and customer support.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Oversee system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Manage software/hardware installations, updates, and license allocations.
- Support network connectivity, Active Directory, VPN, and cloud services like Azure.
- Implement and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) protocols.
- Facilitate end-user training.
- Participate in infrastructure project planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory.
- Periodically travel to other locations within the state to service network infrastructure and provide support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field is preferred.
- CompTIA A+ and/or Network + certifications are preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a desktop support role.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Experience with Windows/macOS, Microsoft 365, and endpoint security tools.
- Familiarity with Azure is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License with the ability to operate company vehicles.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and respond effectively to IT incidents.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Must pass criminal background check.
