General Summary
We are seeking an organized, communicative, and technically adept IT Support Technician for a temporary, 3-month computer rollout project across multiple client sites. As a “technical runner,” you will deploy laptops, set up printers, image systems, and provide tier 1 support to end-users.
This entry-level role requires basic IT knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to travel between sites to ensure smooth IT operations. If you’re a proactive problem-solver who enjoys hands-on technical work, we’d love to meet you!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Equipment Deployment and Setup
- Deliver, set up, and configure IT equipment (laptops, desktops, printers) across client sites.
- Image laptops and connect devices to networks using the provided tools and instructions.
- Travel between sites to support deployments and resolve issues.
- Tier 1 Technical Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware/software issues (e.g., printer errors, laptop setup problems).
- Guide end-users through simple troubleshooting steps in person or over the phone.
- Refer advanced issues to senior technicians per guidelines.
- Service Coordination and Documentation
- Log service requests, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Document common solutions (e.g., Wi-Fi setup steps) to support team efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and provide status updates to clients and team members.
- Customer Service and Teamwork
- Deliver friendly, professional support to end-users during on-site and remote interactions.
- Communicate clearly with clients and collaborate with technicians to ensure timely resolutions.
- Maintain a positive attitude while addressing inquiries and managing expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic experience providing technical support or assisting end-users with IT issues.
- Familiarity with IT hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, printers) and software (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office).
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and handle equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for multi-site travel.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) or technical training.
- Experience in healthcare, MSP, or multi-site IT environments.
- Familiarity with imaging software (e.g., SCCM, MDT), ticketing systems, or basic network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, email systems, or remote desktop tools.
Physical Demands
This role involves frequent standing, walking, and driving between client sites within a 50-mile radius. Candidates must be comfortable lifting and carrying equipment and performing hands-on tasks in office settings, server rooms, or client facilities.
