POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Support Specialist I is responsible for providing excellent entry and mid-level support to end-users on all company-supported applications and equipment. This includes troubleshooting computer problems, determining source, and providing appropriate actions. They will also maintain end-user workstations, tablets, phones, and peripherals. These and other responsibilities will be performed in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides excellent customer service via phone, email, Teams, and walk-in customers
  • Provides first-line support answering technical questions and providing resolutions to problems
  • Provides information to all users regarding system status, operability, proper equipment use, and printer functions
  • Works with other groups within IT to help resolve technical problems
  • Maintains, upgrades, and repairs PCs, tablets, phones, and peripheral equipment
  • Help with user relocation within the office by moving user computers and all associated equipment
  • Logs, receives, and tracks helpdesk tickets via IT ticketing system
  • Installs and verifies software, software updates and patches, and checks for correct operations
  • Completes hardware and software licensing functions and assists with inventory management
  • Assists with generating and maintaining proper IT department documentation
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 1-2 years helpdesk experience
  • Knowledge of computer and/or network systems, applications procedures, and techniques
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems 
  • Experience with Active Directory user management and access control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 2 years technical college or equivalent work experience
  • Certifications preferred but not required

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in indoor and outdoor settings. The indoor settings include office and warehouse/hangar environments which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, copiers, etc. The outdoor settings include parking lots and airplane runways. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Occasionally subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects. 

Medium work; exerts up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently , and 10 lbs. constantly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship. Must be able to pass a post offer DOT drug test upon hire.
