RiverLand Federal Credit Union is seeking a part-time temporary (duration up to 6 months max) IT Support Intern to join our team. This position will be located at our Main Office at 639 Loyola Ave New Orleans, LA 70113 and will be expected to work Monday- Friday, up to 29-hours per week. This position will work fully on-site, this is position is not remote work eligible.
To support the IT department with proper logging, wiping, removing, and destruction of old IT equipment. Support with some PC and laptop OS imaging. Assist with support for minor help desk tickets
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Records, supports, and manages the hardware/software/network components; uninstall wiped hard drives from old PCs and laptops for destruction, decommission and remove network information from other old network devices to prepare for proper destruction. Be able to move and lift items in preparation for destruction pickup by vendors.
- Consults with IT management, IT supervisory staff, and various IT personnel to assure that IT standards for control, security, and recoverability are understood and followed; coordinates with other IT Technical Support staff to assure that appropriate IT computing standards are implemented and maintained; manages software upgrades to assure compliance with standards and control procedures. Some PC/Laptop OS imaging. Assist with minor help desk tickets
- Required to complete annual in-services to include critically identified areas: BSA, Compliance, Security and Workplace Conduct. Follows all Credit Union policies and procedures, and performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A high school education or GED.
- Skills:
- Experience in PC usage and hardware/software support.
- Windows 10 and Windows server experience a plus.
- PC "TCP / IP" and Networking experience a plus.
- Ability to diagnose problems.
- Must be able to install, troubleshoot, and support personal computers, Windows, network and data communications software and hardware, and be familiar with basic programming logic, processing concepts and terminology, and processing rigors
Other:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a criminal background check.
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a credit check.
- Must be bondable.
