About this opportunity

At PAM Transport, the Level 1 Help Desk Technician is on the front line, fielding user calls to resolve technology issues.  The Level 1 Help Desk Technician is an entry level position providing the opportunity for the technician to experience a broad array of technologies, problem solving, and prioritization skills in the corporate Workplace Services (WPS) area.  The knowledge gained provides the technician with options to stay in the WPS with opportunities for growth in responsibility and knowledge or it can serve as a springboard for other opportunities within information technology.

Pay and Schedule

This position is on site Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The pay range is $50,000 - $55,000/year dependent on experience.

How will you contribute to the success of the team?

  • Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or chat in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance to users to resolve technical problems.
  • Document and track user issues and resolutions in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Level Two support or appropriate IT staff.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of computer systems and peripherals.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and follow-up.
  • Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies.

What makes you a strong candidate for this position?

  • Basic Troubleshooting – Diagnosing and resolving common hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Operating Systems – Familiarity with Windows and other operating systems
  • Software Support – Knowledge of Microsoft Office, email clients, browsers, and common enterprise applications.
  • Networking Fundamentals – Understanding of IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and basic connectivity issues.
  • Ability, aptitude, and desire to be part of a service-oriented team
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
  • Creativity and the ability to grasp new technologies quickly are essential
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train and share knowledge
