Description

Receives incoming calls and emails from hospital employees, physicians, and patients, then prioritizes service requests and opens work orders into the Helpdesk ticketing software for the appropriate technicians and service area. This position provides first-level support for problems relating to hospital computers, printers, phones and other computer related equipment and software. Helpdesk assigns, tracks, documents resolutions and radio dispatches work orders as required. The technician also maintains equipment inventory, disposal and preventative maintenance on hospital IT equipment. Incumbent is the primary contact between hospital and employees and the Biomedical, Facilities, Engineering, Housekeeping, Information Systems, Telecom, and Maintenance technical staff.

What You'll Do:

  • Prioritize and log all incoming help desk requests. Contact the appropriate technical resources to resolve help desk calls. Escalate calls to the appropriate supervisor or manager if required by the severity of the problem.
  • Provide first-level technical response for IT related problems. Must be able to problem solve and assist employees with personal computer, printing, or basic networking problems.
  • Maintain and update the Help Desk software database including tracking changes to equipment, customers, technicians, and the facility.
  • Work with other IS, Telecom, and Biomed staff to coordinate a high level of service availability.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of applicable IT professional experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and Windows and Apple products and familiarity with personal computers and multi-line phones.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while answering multi-line phones, follow-up and expedite issues for resolution and to ensure compliance with policies and standards.Β 
  • Microsoft or industry certifications preferred.

Job Information:

  • Part-time, day shifts including Saturdays.
  • Starting wage $26.61Β to $32.25Β based on qualifications.
