Who is an IT Support Technician?

The Fit4Less IT Support Technician’s role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.

Job Summary:

Receives and dispatches support emails from Fit4Less associates received from end users and the ticketing systems in order to resolve technical issues.

  • Examines reported information and uses existing knowledge base and documentation to address issues.
  • Documents all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue to accurately track incidents for reporting purposes.
  • Communicates electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties to determine and document problems experienced. 

Participates in the reconfiguration and deployment of applications, hardware and other software based on provided rollout plans, ensuring IT projects and initiatives are completed within the desired timeframes.

  • Consults user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions as efficiently as possible, making suggestions for improvements.
  • Provides advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties based on internal standard operating procedures.
  • Provisions hardware for use in production environment (e.g., Windows for laptop and desktop).
  • Ships, receives, and tracks IT inventory in accordance with established guidelines. 

Collaborates with vendor support contacts to resolve all issues for desktop equipment and software based on reported trends.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • College Degree in related field
  • 1 year in a support role
  • Intermediate experience with remote technical assistance (Remote Desktop Connection, TeamViewer)
  • Advanced knowledge of how to maintain operating systems (Windows/Linux/Mac OS)
