Cybersecurity Operations Manager

In order to continually provide our members with the highest level of service, Affinity FCU is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Manager to join our team.  The Cybersecurity Operations Manager is entrusted with responsibility for the operations of the company's Cybersecurity program. This role demands an adept understanding of cybersecurity best practices, the capability to execute security policies, and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding the organization from potential threats.  The incumbent will promote a culture of security awareness in line with the ISO’s organizational awareness strategy.  

The starting pay range for a new hire in this role is $120k-$135k.  The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying including but not limited to: years of relevant experience, years of industry experience, education, etc. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement, configure, and maintain comprehensive network security operations aligned with organizational goals and the Information Security Program in conjunction with the ISO.
• Implement, configure, and maintain network security tools and technologies such as firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), proxy servers, and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), as directed by ISO-defined standards.
• Collects, maintains, and monitors network logs, including virus alerts, intrusion notifications, e-mail, and web filter reports, as well as normal server information, system, and security logs, providing reporting as requested by the ISO.
• Conducting regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, implementing corrective actions for identified network vulnerabilities in coordination with the ISO and the Vulnerability Management Program.
• Ensures that all network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) are securely configured and hardened according to best practices and ISO-approved organizational policies
• Offer guidance and leadership to the Cybersecurity Operations team, which may encompass employees, contract personnel, and vendor partners both onshore and offshore.
• Manage network security vendors (MSSP) including 24/7 SOC providers with communication, investigation, and/or resolution.
• Respond to security incidents generated by Firewalls, EDR systems, and other security systems.
• Responsible for the implementation, configuration, and the operational management of cybersecurity tools to improve the security posture and visibility of potential internal and external threats.
• Collects, maintains, and monitors network logs, including virus alerts, intrusion notifications, e-mail, and web filter reports, as well as normal server information, system, and security logs.
• Develop and maintain operational incident response plans for team.
• Support the IT organization with asset management to ensure accurate data for protecting all company Configuration Items.
• Research and recommend new security solutions or tools to enhance the information security program, submitting recommendations to the ISO for review.
• Prepare Network Security Reports for management, the AFCU ISO, and internal/external auditors.
• Enforce Cybersecurity Operations policies, procedures, and standards as defined and approved by the ISO.
• Responsible for Vulnerability Management operations to ensure risks are mitigated based on the SLAs defined by the policies defined by the ISO.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Network Security/ Cybersecurity Manager or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of network security technologies, protocols, and best practices (CrowdStrike EDR, Tenable Vulnerability Management, ProofPoint email security and security awareness, Skyhigh CASB, Trellix or O365 DLP, Arctic Wolf, etc.)
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CFS, PCI-DSS. SOC2, etc.) compliance requirements, and risk management.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security +, CISM, CCSP, SSCP, CISSP, CEH, GSEC) are a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
