StratasCorp Technologies has an immediate vacancy for a Business Development Manager โ Defense IT Support Contracts. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our team and focus on identifying and capturing strategic opportunities within the defense IT support sector. This role will involve leading efforts to develop and maintain relationships with potential government customers and industry partners, with an emphasis on securing defense contracts valued over $25M. The ideal candidate will be skilled in capturing new business, working within the Shipley capture process, and leading proposal development efforts. Key Responsibilities will include:
โข Relationship Management: Develop and maintain high-quality relationships with potential government customers and industry partners to enhance business development opportunities. Ability to establish rapport and trust with senior government officials, military leaders, and industry partners
โข Consultative Selling: Skilled at understanding customer needs, aligning solutions with their goals, and positioning the company as a trusted partner
โข Presentation Skills: Strong presentation abilities, including the capacity to deliver clear, compelling briefings to executive leadership and potential customers
โข Negotiation: Experience with negotiating contracts and managing customer expectations, ensuring both customer satisfaction and company profitability
โข Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify potential business opportunities 18-24 months in advance, ensuring the company is positioned for future growth
โข Opportunity Qualification: Qualify potential business opportunities based on winnability and desirability, ensuring alignment with company strengths and capabilities
โข Capture & Proposal Support: Lead or assist with business capture activities, including the development and execution of call plans, win themes, win strategies, and proposal writing
โข Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a high-quality business pipeline for input into business and resource forecasting
โข Voice of the Customer: Serve as the reliable voice of the customer in capture and proposal activities, ensuring that customer needs and requirements are accurately addressed
โข 5-10 years of business development experience in the defense sector, specifically with a proven track record of prosecuting and winning defense IT support contracts exceeding $25M
โข At least 5 years of proposal development experience, including hands-on involvement in preparing and submitting proposals
โข Strong understanding of the Shipley capture process and proven ability to apply it effectively
โข Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with senior military officers and senior civilian executives both orally and in writing
โข Ability to assess and qualify business opportunities, as well as develop win strategies that align with customer needs and organizational objectives
โข Previous experience working within the defense IT support industry
โข Familiarity with government contracting regulations and processes
โข Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
