SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior IT Systems Administrator, the IT Support Administrator coordinates the Hecla Connect intranet platform (hosted by a third-party) for the Lucky Friday Mine site and provides general IT support for site operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for intranet content coordination, partnering with departments across the site to ensure employees have access to current and accurate information. The position also supports user onboarding and offboarding, IT documentation, and technical troubleshooting, contributing to the overall effectiveness of IT services at the Lucky Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Administer and maintain the Hecla Connect intranet for the Lucky Friday mine site, ensuring content is current, organized, and accessible to all employees.
- Work independently to manage intranet projects and coordinate with multiple departments simultaneously.
- Partner with department leads and subject matter experts to update, publish, and manage content on their respective intranet sites.
- Train and support users on the intranet platform and intranet best practices.
- Monitor intranet user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance the overall user experience.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including configuring systems for new employees and revoking access upon separation.
- Create, maintain, and improve IT documentation, including user guides, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Assist users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and user account issues such as lockouts and access requests.
- Contribute to and maintain system standards, performance metrics, and training materials.
- Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.
- Participate in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development as required.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, site safety rules, SOP, and work area instructions, and participate in safety activities.
- Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conduct activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner. Is aware of procedures to minimize impacts to the environment.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, outside contractors and vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associated Degree in IT or a related field, or an equivalent combination of IT certifications and experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Experience with web content management systems, intranet platforms, or website administration is preferred.
