Job Goal: Support district IT staff with summer device inventory, help prep classroom technology for upcoming school year, and assist with updating windows computer labs. This position will be working closely with IT student helpers and will provide limited guidance for students during the inventory and repair process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge, training and/or experience with computer hardware, software, and peripherals
- Experience assisting with students
- Able to work safely and perform job duties within district guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Passage of a fingerprint-based criminal history verification required upon offer of employment.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Assess district Chromebooks for damage and ensure they are properly inventoried.
- Assist IT student helpers with inventory processes, answering any questions they may have.
- Provide basic repairs to district Chromebooks as needed.
- Help district IT staff store Classroom technology for summer room cleaning and ensure that
- Ensure district technology is properly setup for the next school year.
- Provide tier 1 helpdesk support for any district staff working over the summer.
- Support IT staff reimaging and updating school computer labs (Window 11).
- Assist the Technology Supervisor as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Written and oral communication skills sufficient to perform the essential function of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, including Window 11, Chrome OS, familiarity with inventory software, and windows Active Directory/Azure policies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor hardware and software issues. Ability to assist with the training of others in the use of hardware and software applications.
- Capable of working within a team structure or independently. Possess interpersonal skills needed to be a constructive participant.
- Ability to complete work in a thorough and timely manner, working independently on complex tasks and in stressful or pressure situations.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, diplomacy and tact in a school setting with a diverse student body.
- Aptitude for learning new applications and techniques. Ability to complete training as may be requested or required.
- Respect of confidential information.
- Travel between sites is required.
Working Conditions: Assisting district staff and IT students with technological requests. This may involve transporting computers, solving problems, and answering questions, etc. Work takes place in a school environment and involves frequent interaction with other people. Work as a team member and in shared office space. Exhibit professional demeanor. Work independently and under pressure of deadlines. Nature of the job is security-sensitive.
