Position Overview:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide IT support dedicated to on-campus and off-campus students.
Major Responsibilities:
- Dorm cabling infrastructure maintenance and repair
- Managing Student Microsoft email accounts
- Providing technical support for students having issues with network connectivity including but not limited to gaming consoles, tablets, TV’s and smart phones.
- Providing student devices with at least 20 minutes of technical support for issues other than network connectivity.
- Managing Campus Printing instillation instructions, drivers, and account balance renewal and resets.
- Providing technical support for students having issues with connectivity to Campus Printing
- Managing the set up and tear down of IT equipment for Nelson events such as but not limited to Fine Arts, NSO’s, Lion’s Fair, and Aramark Surveys.
- Providing technical support for Nelson campus devices including but not limited to laptops, computers, software, and printers.
- Communicating with Dell Online Self Dispatch for issues that cannot be resolved.
Qualifications
· Faith, service, and lifestyle that meets University expectations (See IPM sections: “Statement of Core Values,” “Doctrinal Statement,” “Christian Standards,” “Lifestyle Standard.”)
- Two years’ experience of Microsoft Networking and account management
- Two years experience and good troubleshooting skills on various hardware platforms
- Cabling experience
- Cabling troubleshooting experience
- Ability to relate well to students, faculty and staff
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds of weight
This is a 40 hour a week job, but the working hours can vary due to events such as student move ins, registration, and other issues. Some evening hours and Saturday hours may be required.
