Senior Cyber Security Analyst

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst for a remote opportunity for candidates working EST hours. Candidate will serve as a senior cybersecurity professional focused on penetration testing, security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat hunting across enterprise systems. The role combines hands-on technical testing with security investigation, risk analysis, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement of security practices.

Required Qualifications  of the Senior Cyber Security Analyst:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant technical experience in cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Contract C2 eligibility/clearance is required.
• Hands-on experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, security testing, or threat hunting.
• Strong Linux experience and proficiency with security tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Nessus.
• Ability to manually validate vulnerabilities, conduct exploitation testing, distinguish false positives, and evaluate real-world security risk.
• Strong understanding of network and system security, incident response, intrusion detection, log analysis, and security risk management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to clearly document technical findings and communicate security risks and remediation recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Senior Cyber Security Analyst:

• Experience supporting incident response in a medium- to large-scale enterprise.
• Experience interpreting and applying cyber threat intelligence.
• CISA, CISM, or CISSP certification.

Responsibilities of the Senior Cyber Security Analyst:

• Plan and execute penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and advanced security evaluations across applications, systems, networks, and infrastructure.
• Perform hands-on testing and exploitation to validate vulnerabilities, assess attack paths, and determine potential business impact.
• Conduct threat hunting and investigate escalated security events, suspicious activity, and potential incidents.
• Research emerging threats and attack techniques while helping tune security tools to improve detection and containment capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance and actionable remediation recommendations to security teams, stakeholders, and management.
• Evaluate and improve security assessment methodologies, tools, processes, and enterprise security solutions.

Work Location: Remote. EST Hours.
