The Product Analyst I is responsible for: work related to rate reviews, rate filings, form filings, and program filings for all major departments in all states; keeping up to date on state regulations and advisory organization filings for all lines; ensuring filing submissions are in compliance with all applicable insurance laws, regulations, and rating bureaus and maintaining appropriate documentation for all lines.
Essential Duties:
- Product/Competitor research and product development
- Assists in the development of new enhancements and products
- Provides counsel to lines of business regarding compliance issues
- Obtains and analyzes competitor filings, as needed
- Monitor rate, rule, and form changes filed by ISO
- Collaborates with affected line(s) to prepare analysis and outline for Management
- Determines appropriate company action and submit necessary delay filings
- Compliance Research
- Ensures that product changes comply with each state's laws and regulations
- Monitors law changes and determine necessary actions to comply with the changes
- Create and/or update documents needed to implement product changes including;
- Documents (project checklists) provided to programming with detailed instructions about the product changes
- State exception pages and policy forms
- Assists Quality Assurance department maintain the business requirements documents as necessary
- Assists Quality Assurance department with implementation testing
- Prepare and submit rate, rule, and form filings for the state departments of insurance (DOIs)
- Completes filing requirements in SERFF to submit proposed changes to the state DOIs
- Monitors SERFF filing status and assist with answering any questions or objections from the DOI
- Assists Management including:
- Suggests any changes in Product Management Services processes and/or procedures
- Provides information for reports, meetings, and other company activities
- Communicates proactively with manager regarding project work status and project task completion concerns
- Trains of other Product Management Services staff as required
- Presents to or prepare informational materials for other Company staff groups, as required
- Other special projects and duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and or equivalent business experience
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a related position
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong organizational, planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent research skills
- Ability to handle shifting priorities
- Strong time management skills
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint
Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
