We are currently looking for an IT Support Technician III to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The IT Support Technician III functions as a highly skilled, lead helpdesk technical support, working alongside the helpdesk team to provide advanced support across a dynamic Microsoft-centric infrastructure with 300+ workstation users and 300+ phone users. This role involves in-depth troubleshooting, user and device management, and software configuration, all with a proficient degree of systems thinking. 
 
What You Will Be Doing
  • Actions advanced helpdesk support requests escalated by other helpdesk personnel. 
  • Additionally handles basic- and medium-level helpdesk support requests as needed. 
  • Creates and updates workstation images. 
  • Manages well-organized user accounts, security groups, teams, and mailboxes. 
  • Performs in-depth troubleshooting to diagnose hardware, software, and network issues. 
  • Provisions workstations (Windows laptops and Windows desktops) and phones (predominantly iOS, some Android.) 
  • Provides expert technical advice to end users and other support technicians. 
  • Proactively develops specific domain knowledge across systems to increase breadth of support ability.
  • Writes professional documentation and guides.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
 
Your Background  
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
  • 5+ years supporting Microsoft environments with 200+ end users.
  • US Citizenship
  • Standout troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Flexibility in learning new technologies and quickly adapting to new tools and processes.
  • Strong research competence to effectively gather, analyze, and apply information to technical issues.
  • Proven technical writing ability to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with an emphasis on supporting and guiding end users.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
  • High proficiency with:
    • Windows 10+ and Windows Server 2016+
    • Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams)
    • Exchange Online
    • SharePoint Online and OneDrive
    • Active Directory
    • Entra ID
    • Microsoft Graph
    • PowerShell
    • Remote Desktop
    • Network file shares
    • Any ticketing system
  • Basic understanding of networking (higher-level knowledge strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices.
  • Working knowledge of iOS devices and support.
The Work Environment at Rhoads
  • The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
