We are currently seeking an IT Support Technician
As a member of the Information Technology Team this role will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for various IT systems and applications. Successful candidates will provide technical support for various systems and applications, including the DSI DCLINK application, Office 365, and ERP applications (JDE). Responsibilities include managing Active Directory accounts, supporting hardware and peripherals, and working with customers to resolve technical issues. Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills are essential.
The ideal person should have 3+ years of experience in help desk support.
To be effective in this role this individual must have experience with desktop hardware and software support including Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and has experience with ERP applications such as JDE.
This is an onsite position based in Reno, NV. This role also required that the candidate be open and willing to be on call.
Position duties / responsibilities:
• Support various computer hardware (PC, Mac, laptops, etc) and other peripherals for users located in Reno as well as other US and European locations
• Manage and support O365 applications, MS Teams and the telephony system
• Assist with the configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of our corporate network
• Support DSI dcLINK application as well as handheld devices tied with the system
• Provide software support for user applications including productivity tools, reporting software and ERP application (JD Edwards)
• Create Active Directory accounts for new employees; maintain Active Directory accounts for existing employees
• Develop and maintain standard configurations for PCs, laptops, and workstations
• Maintain software inventory to ensure compliance with software license agreements
• Repair hardware as necessary and work closely with vendors to ensure continuity of service
• Monitor and maintain the wireless infrastructure including access points and switches
• Proactively work with customers by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding them through corrective steps
• Improve and maintain documentation of IT policies and procedures
• Perform daily backup and restore operations using Microsoft DPM and Commvault data protection software
• Monitor industry literature for new PC technologies and where appropriate incorporate them into the standard configuration
Candidate requirements:
• 3+ years of experience is preferred.
• Experience with desktop hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• End-user and technical support experience with Microsoft productivity tools: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Access, Visio.
• Knowledge of databases, SQL scripting, and PowerShell highly desirable.
• Experience in JD Edwards ERP system is beneficial.
• Passion for problem-solving and customer service.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and systems.
• Experience with network cabling, switches, remote printers, and other network peripherals.
Work Environment:
• This position is responsible for supporting mission-critical applications that are used by a wide audience ranging from customers to Cascade employees at all levels of the company.
• This position is subject to frequent changes in priorities and interruptions. Incumbent will need to maintain focus on a task or project in the face of numerous incoming telephone calls, questions, and requests. When interrupted, will need the ability to judge whether to pursue the new issue or continue working on the earlier one.
• Incumbent must be willing to be on call to address outages and other major issues. Some evening or weekend hours will be required for upgrades and the completion of other projects that require after hours to complete.
