The Information Technology Support Technician II performs intermediate to advanced technical duties related to computer hardware and software customer support in the Emergency Communications Center of the Sheriff’s Office. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining Sheriff’s Office computer systems to ensure end users receive the most e?ective IT functionality and support and maintain CAD/RMS/MDT as a secondary function. The position installs computer hardware and software, updates applications, and performs diagnostic tests and maintenance on computer components. This position also develops and maintains Sheriff’s Office IT asset data, gathering and documenting asset state of condition, and performing complex technical o?ce and ?eld work to be used to plan maintenance activities and in support of a computerized maintenance management system.

This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Work requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm’s length, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, and atmospheric conditions. Occasional driving to remote sites is required.
