Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the IT Support Specialist provides comprehensive technical assistance to system users via phone, help desk support, and on-site visits. This role is essential in the procurement, setup, installation, maintenance, and security of all computer systems and network components. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly guide end users through technical issues are critical. The IT Support Specialist ensures the reliable installation and upkeep of high-quality network infrastructure and computer systems while delivering exceptional customer service across the 13 counties served by the North Central Health District..
 
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, hardware, and software for optimal performance.
  • Respond to help desk requests and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to ensure the effective delivery of IT services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on IT-related topics.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to IT security and data protection.
  • Procure new equipment as needed, including researching options, obtaining quotes, and coordinating purchases with vendors. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain the IT help desk ticketing system.
  • Administer user accounts and permission in Active Directory


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of related experience
Or 
Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of related experience
Or
One year of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 1 (ITP020) or position equivalent.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
