Purpose of the position
Under the direction of the IT Manager, this position provides Region VII AAA personnel with IT (Information Technology) technical support related to computers and equipment; maintains the Local Area Network (LAN); troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all IT related equipment; safeguards information systems assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems; installs hardware and software systems; responsible for setting up all IT, phones, faxes, printers, computers and laptops for personnel usage; seeing that all security measures are in place for HIPAA compliance; and maintains IT inventory for site.
 
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide hands-on technical support to employees for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades in accordance with IT and HIPAA policies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless network connectivity.
  • Respond promptly to service desk tickets and document resolutions.
  • Collaborate with remote support and vendors as needed for issue resolution.
  • Support video conferencing equipment and meeting room technology.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets, tools, and supplies.
  • Enforce company IT policies and data security best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on system usage and best practices.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager to prioritize goals and needs as set forth in the Disaster Recovery Plan
 
Requirements for this position
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in an on-site or field technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and iOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint security tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment as needed.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are a plus.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within all ten counties of the region (and at times out of region) in reliable transportation.
