The Position:

Our downtown Edmonton client is seeking a permanent IT Security Analyst to join their team. You will be responsible for participation of the design, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of their cyber security defences. You will also be responsible for keeping on top of the ever-evolving threat landscape while staying current with leading edge countermeasures.

What You'll Do:

• Utilize expertise to create and lead a comprehensive incident response strategy.

• Serve as the main point of escalation for incident response activities.

• Oversee and address help desk inquiries related to cybersecurity.

• Be on-call for critical incidents at all times.

• Administer and manage various security systems and network devices.

• Ensure all security events are properly logged, monitored, and escalated.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses.

• Collaborate with various teams to implement best practices and maintain compliance.

• Investigate and respond to security breaches and incidents.

• Address vulnerabilities to uphold high-security standards.

• Develop and promote IT security best practices across the organization.

• Lead cybersecurity training and awareness programs for staff.

• Advise on cybersecurity policies, standards, and strategies.

• Ensure vendor compliance with data protection policies.

• Recommend security enhancements to management.

• Stay updated on IT trends and security standards.

• Regularly report on the organization's security posture.

• Foster professional relationships within the organization.

• Perform additional duties as needed.

Mandatories:

• Proficiency in penetration testing tools for applications and infrastructure.

• 2+ years experience in securing and monitoring Azure and M365.

• 5 7 years cybersecurity experience.

• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including various protocols, operating systems, and networks.

• Strong analytical skills to identify and solve problems and implement solutions effectively.

• Self-driven with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure situations.

• Provide mentorship and training to team members.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.

• Highly resourceful, flexible, and adaptable.
