Job Summary:

This role position focuses on import regulatory adherence for children’s apparel, footwear, and accessories, requiring a licensed customs broker and strong HTSUS expertise. The analyst ensures inbound documentation accuracy, tariff classification, duty optimization, and auditing functionality by validating broker filings, monitoring liquidation risks, and providing data-driven insights to reduce cost and compliance exposure.


Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

Tariff Classification & Import Management

  • Classification Expertise: Children’s apparel, footwear, accessories, and etc. utilizing in-depth knowledge of HTS, General Notes (GNs), GRI principles, Explanatory Notes (ENs), and Chapter 98/99 provisions.

  • Internal Business Partner Collaboration: Sourcing, Design, Quality Assurance

    • Product reviews, duty requests, updates, tariff engineering opportunities

    • Training on new/updated U.S. Customs regulations

  • Free Trade Agreement Qualification and Documentation Review: AGOA, CAFTA, USMCA, QIZ etc.

  • Partnering Government Agency Review – AD/CVD, CPSC, FDA, etc.

  • Trade tariff remedy exposure

  • Duty Drawback knowledge

Shipment & Entry Management

  • Customs Broker Collaboration (US and Canada)

    • Provide resolutions to create for smooth customs entry

    • Shipment discrepancies, requests for additional information, etc.

  • Knowledge of Canada Customs requirements: Documentation and clearance procedures with the ability to resolve issues

  • Validate and audit HTS, country of origin, MID, entered value, and duty/fees against entry data vs internal TCP data

  • Post-summary corrections, voluntary tenders, protests when needed.

Advanced Reporting

  • Run and analyze ACE standard and ad hoc reports for audit entry accuracy

  • SAP & Cognos Analytics

  • Advanced Excel & Data Modeling

  • Utilization of LOOKUPS (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), Pivot Tables, and conditional formatting and etc.

Additional Projects (Knowledge a plus)

  • Duty Drawback

  • CTPAT

  • First Sale

  • UFLPA

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or a related field or have at least 5 years’ experience in the customs trade industry

  • 5-7 years of trade compliance experience focused on inbound regulatory compliance and documentation for footwear and apparel.

  • Licensed Customs Broker (U.S.) required.

  • Prior experience in Vendor Compliance, Quality Control, Global Sourcing, Duty Drawback, or First Sale is a plus.

  • Adaptability: Must adapt to changing business needs, manage high-volume seasonal workloads, and uphold TCP’s commitment to “reasonable care” in customs compliance.
