The Bowen Group, a GTSC company, seeks Cloud Cybersecurity (CC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic cyber leadership and support for cloud security operations across Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) systems. The CC SME will guide security posture, risk management, and compliance activities, applying deep knowledge of federal frameworks and advanced cybersecurity protocols within cloud environments. This role is critical to safeguarding sensitive systems that support military families and operations.


Work Location

  • HYBRID, Metro Washington DC area. Must be able to attend meetings as in the metro Washington DC region.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • One or more of the following certifications: CISM, CISSO, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCSA, GCIH, GSLC, GICSP, CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP.
  • Active Top Secret clearance or favorably adjudicated Tier 5 background investigation.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or related field.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing cybersecurity projects of similar size and complexity within cloud environments.
  • Experience providing support for large Department of Defense contracts with a preference for MC&FP or related support activities
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with: NIST RMF and NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, SCAP tools and reporting, IAVAs, and FISMA compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide cybersecurity oversight and leadership for all cloud-based systems supporting MC&FP.
  • Guide implementation and compliance with NIST RMF, FISMA, STIGs, SCAP, and IAVAs.
  • Lead the development and execution of cybersecurity strategies tailored to cloud environments.
  • Coordinate vulnerability management and remediation efforts based on assessments and penetration testing.
  • Support DoD defensive cyber operational activities including incident handling, response, reporting, and recovery.
  • Collaborate with system owners, developers, and stakeholders to ensure continuous cyber risk awareness and mitigation.
