You: You are a highly skilled and detail-oriented Audit Support Specialist with deep expertise in federal audit processes, compliance standards, and data analysis. You thrive in environments where precision, communication, and collaboration are essential to ensuring successful audit outcomes. With a strong understanding of federal audit requirements, NIST frameworks, and internal control best practices, you excel at facilitating communication between auditors and internal stakeholders, managing documentation, and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings. Your proactive mindset and organizational skills help strengthen compliance and drive continuous improvement across the enterprise.
What We're Looking For: We are seeking an Audit Support Specialist who will play a pivotal role in supporting our federal partner's audit and compliance initiatives. In this role, you will:
- Leading Innovative Projects: Support the preparation and coordination of federal audits, including A-123, FISMA, and FISCAM.
- Collaborative Solution Development: Act as the primary liaison between auditors and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of audit-related inquiries.
- Strategic Impact: Evaluate organizational compliance with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and other standards, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collect, review, and organize audit artifacts and documentation to meet federal audit requirements.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Track audit findings, monitor remediation progress, and validate corrective actions to ensure timely resolution and continuous compliance improvement.
The Skills We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in audit support, compliance, or risk management within a federal environment
- Strong knowledge of federal audit standards (A-123, FISMA, FISCAM)
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, internal control frameworks, and federal compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- S. Citizenship with eligibility for a Public Trust clearance
- Certifications preferred: CISSP, CISA, CIA (or equivalent)
The Expectations of the Job:
Day One:
- Orientation into Aretec's culture, mission, and client engagement standards
- Gain access to audit tracking systems and compliance documentation repositories
- Begin supporting the preparation of audit artifacts for upcoming reviews
Day Thirty:
- Actively participate in coordinating ongoing audit activities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to collect documentation and address audit requests
- Begin tracking remediation efforts related to previous audit findings
Day Sixty:
- Lead compliance gap analyses against NIST 800-53 and other federal standards
- Provide detailed recommendations for corrective actions and remediation plans
- Facilitate communication between auditors and federal stakeholders on audit inquiries
Day Ninety:
- Take ownership of audit tracking and reporting processes
- Deliver updated reports on audit findings and remediation status to leadership
- Drive process improvements in documentation, compliance monitoring, and remediation validation
