Job Description

Summary

Under general direction of the Principal IT Internal Audit, the Audit Support Manager, manages and supports documentation gathering and execution of tasks supporting HITRUST, SOC, PCI, FedRamp, and other audits related to MedImpact’s internal controls which are conducted by external auditors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business process/control owners to ensure HITRUST, SOC and other external audit activities are conducted effectively and efficiently.

  • Communicate notifications, scope, and timelines to management.

  • Evaluate internal controls audit requests to determine scope, applicability, and impact on organization. Assesses the specifics of the audit requests and work with external auditors to clarify documentation requirements and expected audit deadlines.

  • Coordinate audit activities and facilitate communication between auditors and business process/ control owners. This includes organizing meetings and walkthroughs of business processes, following up on outstanding audit items, and addressing audit documentation questions from both business process / control owners and external auditors.

  • Prepares audit documentation requests and maintain complete records of documentation obtained, including the specifications utilized to create data reports and testing populations.

  • Work with business process/control owners to obtain remediation plans for deficiencies identified during audits conducted by external auditors.  Prepare monthly audit finding reports for distribution to management. Follow-up on the status of remediation progress on all audit findings with on a regular basis.

  • Develop and maintain external audit coordination departmental procedures, work programs and tools. 

  • Assists Internal Audit management with department initiatives and other audit project activities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

BS/BA and 3+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. 

  • Familiarity with Audit Board or similar enterprise risk and governance tool

  • Familiarity with SalesForce (CRM tool). 

  • Aptitude to learn new programs

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CHC, PMP (or any combination) preferred but not required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of healthcare audit management.

  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written).

  • Excellent working knowledge of audit management, MedImpact systems and operations.

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, at weekends or on holidays as required.  Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business.  Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This position requires no travel however attendance may be required at various local conferences and meetings.
