Description

We're growing - join our IT Department!  

 

The IT Support Specialist is an important part of the team and will work daily with many different levels of employees to ensure technical needs are met in a variety of activities. This is a hands-on position with feet on the ground here in the plant!  This is not a work-from-home position, although there may be times that support is needed after hours and can be provided remotely.

 

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks that may involve troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining company computers, IT infrastructure, systems, software, and related technology.

 

  • Will support company employees with technical issues, diagnostics, and repair as applicable, both in office environments and in production/plant environment.
  • Will provide technical support related to computers, laptops, desktop hardware, printers, telephones, RF terminals, barcode scanners, 2-way radios, security cameras, including software installations and configurations.
  • Will assist in the installation and maintenance of computer and infrastructure hardware and software, including in the plant.
  • Will assist management with problem-solving related to technical issues in production areas of the plant.
  • Will provide support related to the IT needs of a medium sized corporate network.
  • Will provide support related to basic network user setup and maintenance.
  • Will provide support related to the management and administration of data, security, and access.
  • Will provide support related to system and software upgrades, as necessary.
  • Will provide support related to vendor specific systems.
  • Will assist with IT and network documentation.
  • Will assist with network design, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Will complete other additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Other Information

  • 3 years’ work history in IT support related position is preferred.
  • CCNA desired, but not required.
  • 2 year Associates degree in IT related field, or combination of formal education and relevant work history.
  • Industry certifications such as A+ and Network+ are desired but not required.
  • Vendor specific certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, etc., are desired but not required.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer hardware.
  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows 7/10.
  • Extensive application support experience.
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent communication.
  • Ability to research, diagnose, and resolve difficult problems.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong documentation skills, including attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while performing duties with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer, requiring near vision and manual dexterity.
